DFW Fiber Fest, a volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization, has grown beyond the imagination of the founding board and early students, vendors and the expectation for future events.
Each year has brought new things, new events…Exciting Happenings.
We are excited to be hosting a brand new type of Friday Night Event. We are busting out the Caftans, and disco ball for our very first BINGO Night, with our host Willie Smith of Willie Nillie Knits!
Our slate of teachers include nationally- and internationally-known fiber instructors and speakers, as well as featured local instructors, drawing on the wealth of knowledge in each of our subject areas. Our educational goal has been to keep class cost at a price-point that keeps our classes affordable to a greater number of students. Sponsorships make that possible.
We also believe in giving back to the community. DFW Fiber Fest continues to offer full and partial scholarships, reducing barriers to entry to the Fiber Arts. Scholarships are funded by sponsors directly as well as through raffles, and special ticket events. Chosen community charity and the focus for previous years have included Knit Your Bit, Project New Start, and Warm Up America In 2024 we will be accepting squares for Warm Up America. Warm Up America takes 7”x9” fiber crafted sections and assembles them into blankets for cancer patients, hospice residents, and victims of disaster, as well as showcasing several other charities as listed on our website.

We also welcome our Patrons. Members of the fiber community have asked to help as a Patron to the DFW Fiber Fest community for these events. Patrons fund our raffles, scholarships and benefits, additional door prize donations and other needs toward the goal of educating and supporting the fiber community throughout the planning activities right up to DFW Fiber Fest weekend.
